There is a possibility that when you first try to install the program, you will get a pop-up that reads “Windows protected your PC” and see a button that says “Don’t run”. This is something precautionary that Microsoft Defender does when it is unfamiliar with a program. Click the “More info” on the pop-up and check if you are familiar with the App name, and that the Publisher name is XLFORMS LLC. If you see our information, continue with the installation as you normally would by clicking on the newly added button that says “Run Anyway”.
The XL Timecard Generator is a spreadsheet application that runs on the desktop version of Microsoft Excel. We designed our application to simplify a complex and time-consuming activity — making timecards.
You will need a computer running Microsoft Windows 7, 8, or 10 with Microsoft Excel 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 or 365 installed (please note that only a desktop version of Excel will support the program, web versions are unable to). We strongly recommend that you update Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office before installing any applications. XLforms applications only support English (United States) at this time.
The XL Timecard Generator is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10. It may run on a virtual machine, but we do not support or guarantee it.
At this time, XL Timecard Generator is only compatible with Microsoft Windows 7-10 operating system.
No, the XL Timecard Generator requires Microsoft Excel to be preinstalled in order to function.
Depending on your version, you may see the “Save is not available in trial version” message during the trial period. If you have already purchased the application, look for the original activation file “[YourFileAndVersionName].rkey” and place it in the same folder as your application, this should prevent further issues.
Depending on your printing software, you may be able to drag-and-drop multiple PDF files onto the printer icon to bulk print. Another option could be using Windows Explorer. Select up to 15 files at once, then right-click over the selected group of files and select the Print option from the pop-up menu. The number of files that you can print at once may vary between different computers.
Close and reopen the application, the press the Take Control button.
- If the application is stored on a network folder, it is possible that another user currently has the application open. The best action in this scenario is to check with other users on your network to see if they are using the application. If they are, they must close the application before you can open it, as Microsoft Excel does not allow two users to work on the same file at the same time.
- Another common reason is, an unneeded temporary file remained open after the last use. The best action in this scenario is; If the application is not currently open by another user, click on the button “Take Control”. Doing so will delete the unneeded temporary file, and it will flag other users on your network, that the application is currently in use again. Reasons for the left over unneeded temporary file are; If the application was not closed properly, like shouting down the computer before closing Timecard Generator or Microsoft Excel, or if the computer shutdown unexpectedly due to a power failure.
Our application requires the installation of Microsoft Visual 2015-2019 Redistributable files. If these are already installed on your machine, you will not be prompted to restart your computer.
To correct this issue, select Visible Weeks from the toolbar and place a checkmark next to Week 1 Weekdays option. You can now enter the Start Date and then re-hide Week 1 Weekdays again if needed.
You most likely have an older version of the Internet Explorer web browser. Internet Explorer is no longer supported by Microsoft. You can try updating your browser manually, or install another browser such Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Set the newer browser as your default to avoid this issue in the future.
This issue occurs because of a faulty Microsoft Authenticode file checker. To correct this issue, you need to install Microsoft Hotfix Easy Fix 51044.msi. Microsoft ended its support for windows 7 in January 14, 2020, and it is possible that the recommended hotfix is no longer available for download. Rest assured, our applications are signed with dual security certificates that support older Microsoft Windows Operating Systems as well as the newest Windows 10. If you cannot find the recommended hotfix, you can ignore the message and proceed with the installation of the application as you normally do.
